chocolate chip banana snack cake {a guest post by kyla}

Oh dear. This recipe has been a family favorite for a few years now and it is far from getting old. Almost every single Youth Group Party I attend, I am asked to bring this yummy concoction. It seems whenever I break out the chocolate chips, it is assumed I am either making chocolate cookies or this recipe. Make this once and I can assure you you will be making it again!

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup mashed banana (about 3 bananas)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
Combine sugar, butter, and eggs. Mix well. Stir in buttermilk, bananas, and vanilla. Blend well. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread in a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
